In a corner of the forest, Alice came upon a pair of twins, who went by the names of Tweedledee and Tweedledum. ‘Why are you,’ ‘chasing after a rabbit?’ the two brothers asked, one after the other, taking it in turns to finish each other’s questions.
‘I suppose it must be curiosity!’ Alice answered without pausing to think.
Tweedledee and Tweedledum joined hands with perfect accord and led Alice to sit upon a fallen log, whereupon the two brothers began, quite unprompted, to perform a tale of their own devising. ‘It’s a story about curiosity!’ ‘It’s the story of the Walrus and the Carpenter—’
